Services We Provide
B&W Photolab is dedicated to providing customers with the highest quality
traditional photographic printing and film processing, as well as copy and
restoration services.
Archival Film Processing
Since a great print starts with getting the best possible negative we hand
process your film in a manual dip and dunk system for superior results. Film
is hung from a rack and immersed in 8 gallons of Tmax RS developer with a
combination of nitrogen bursts and compressed air for consistent agitation.
This is followed by a 1 minute stop bath, two 3 minute fixes, a 4 minute hypo-
clear a 15 minute wash and 30 seconds in photo-flo. This provides archival
results and avoids the dings and scratches that can occur with reel or roller
transport systems. We can handle film from 35mm up to 8x10 sheet film.
Custom Printing
All printing is done by enlarger and tray processed. We can work with
photographers to make the print you visualize, burning, dodging, and
cropping to get the most out of your negative in a way that machine prints
can’t match.
Copy and Restoration
Working with David Mishkin of Just Black and White we can call on over 25
years of experience in preserving our photographic heritage. We provided
copy and restoration services for Museums, Historical Societies and family
archivists across the country. If you have faded or damaged images we can
bring them back to life and create an archival copy negative that can last up
to 300 years.
